Two ancient angelic families hold authority over all other angels, the Hales and the Argents. They existed peacefully for almost an eternity, only then everything changed….
Peter Hale was cast from Heaven when he fell in love with a human woman. He gave up his white wings and position to have what he hoped would be a happy life. Someone had other ideas though, and Peter’s new family were killed in a mysterious fire. Peter managed to return to Heaven to beg for Chris to let his daughter (the Angel of Mercy) bring them back, but he was denied. Chis reminded him Heaven does not help the fallen, and Peter had made his choice.
Driven mad with grief, Peter seeks vengeance and launches an attack. He kills his own niece for trying to stop him, before going after Chris Argent’s daughter. But Peter didn’t plan on Scott McCall (a guardian angel in training) coming to her rescue. Furious, Peter is defeated, but not without wrenching Scott from Allison’ side, so that she might know a fraction of the loss he has suffered. Peter brands Scott using powerful demonic magic to ensure he can never return home…
Allison begs her father to save Scott, but Chris (the Angel of Judgement) tells her what is done cannot be undone, Scott is a Fallen now, and forsaken by their protection.
It falls to Allison and Stiles (Scott’s best friend and fellow trainee Guardian), to try and save their friend from an eternity of dark wings and dark thoughts.
Enter Derek Hale, Peter Hale’s nephew, and also a Fallen. Derek chose to leave Heaven, but no-one seems to know why. Derek hates the Argents but he also hates his Uncle, and so he takes Scott somewhat under his wing (so to speak). Allison is being kept close by the Argents, fearful Peter may strike again, so it falls to Stiles to try and save his friend. Stiles doesn’t trust Derek but, as they begrudgingly work together to help Scott, Stiles begins to realize life isn’t as black and white as he’s been raised to believe, and that sometimes the Fallen aren’t the monsters the Argents would have them believe. With the revelation that Kate Argent (the angel of Vengeance) tricked Derek out of his white wings by telling him she loved him and wanted to spend her life with him on earth, Stiles starts to suspect the monsters are with the walls and that several millennia of power has led to corruption among his superiors.
The more time Stiles spends on earth the more he realizes he’s not sure he wants to follow the path the Argents have set for him anymore, and the time may come where he has to make a very big decision over where his future and his loyalties lie.
